The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) announced on the 28th that it had identified and arrested four suspects in connection with five serial burglaries targeting homes damaged by fire through an investigation.

According to the police, the first incident occurred on November 11 of last year at 1500 Shelbach Place in Reston. The family, returning to the house that had been damaged by fire, discovered that someone had broken into the home and damaged the gun safe. No stolen items were found at the time.

However, on the 23rd of the same month, the suspects broke into the house again and stole a gun safe, as well as a Porsche Macan parked in the driveway. The vehicle was later found in Maryland.

Police announced that three additional burglaries using similar methods occurred between November of last year and July of this year. The crimes took place in the police jurisdictions of Reston, Fair Oaks, and West Springfield, and were committed on five separate occasions at a total of four homes.

It was found that the suspects stole a gun safe, cash, guitar, headphones, jewelry, perfume, wallets, etc. during the crime.

Police analyzed video footage and digital evidence and tracked the movement of the stolen goods, confirming that the five incidents were linked. They conducted the investigation in cooperation with police departments in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Loudon County, as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and recovered some stolen goods, including firearms, that were stolen during the crime last November.
