The Washington Post (WP) pointed out that “this letter shows that former President Trump, a leading Republican candidate, is likely to face another prosecution crisis.” Prosecutor Smith, appointed in November last year, has conducted a long-term investigation focusing on former President Trump’s role in the invasion of Congress.
