Amid President Trump’s recent order to halt offshore wind power projects nationwide, including in Virginia, citing national security concerns, a Virginia-based offshore wind company has taken legal action against the Trump administration.
According to local media outlet WTOP, Richmond-based Dominion Energy filed a complaint in federal court on the 24th, calling the government’s construction halt arbitrary, capricious, and unconstitutional, and asking for the order to be suspended.
Dominion Energy warned that the halt is costing the company more than $5 million per day in operating construction vessels 24 hours a day, a cost that will ultimately be passed on to companies and consumers.
